Business audit helps to view the exact position of the business. It tells us where the business stans in the competetive market.

Why an attorney Posted: 1:20 PM On February 19, 2009
If your receipts and papers are in line, as they should be, why in a world would you hire a $300/hr guy? You just present your papers and the life goes on. If there, there comes up things that you have treated according to your best, depending on the 'business situation', you might have an attorney to defend your position, but other that unless you are a crock,
I wouldn't pay anybody $300/hr (+inflated hrs).
I had a sales tax audit (a small business, 1.5-2.5 mill/yr)and only thing
they came up after 3week!!! couple technical matters, Out of state client
service truck picked up something and the something wasn't charged the IL sales tax, and having too good records, the invoice indicated 'customer pick up'. If the invoice would have stated nothing for the 'salespoint'
or would have crim . Keep papers in oeden are NOTHING happens and best no additional $300/hr.

And if you are real unlucky and get the letter of death from the IRS, the first thing to do is hire a TAX ATTORNEY. Forget about your CPA and hire the best attorney you can afford.
The audit will drag on for many months and possibly years, Having a competent attorney to deal with the IRS personnel while you deal with straightening out your records will give you peace of mind. (If that is possible)
Chances are your attorney will outclass the IRS agent and they will move on to easier pickin's. Did I mention that as long as there is no evidence of a crime, you won't have to even meet with the IRS agent? That's why you pay the tax attorney $300 or so an hour. It will be the best money you spend in your lifetime.
