VM Ware - This application allows Linux/Unix based operating systems to emulate the Windows operating system. This allows applications normally only available on windows to run Linus or Unix. Another flavor of this application is known as WINE.

Cloud Computing - A method of distributed computing that allows for very scalable computation. An example of this would be Google App Engine. http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/whatisgoogleappengine.html. A good way to think of it is many computers behaving much like one single computer.
