I am an inventor with a product that will be of interest to pet owners. It will be relatively simple to produce and ship. Are there any product manufacturing companies that would have alternatives to the upfront 8 to $10,000 fees for developement?

Great article, Diana! It is always nice to see concrete examples of broader concepts. I am particularly fascinated by Branding Brand's move to take a percentage of sales and their win-win proposition--that's one way to show you believe in your services. Could this be the new, modern-day money-back-guarantee? Are there other businesses doing this?

Hello Diana - Glad to see Flexibility at the top of the list. So true in today's economy. I would like to add that creative persistence is essential. It may take a few follow-up communications to reassure a prospective client that you/your company is stable, organized, and committed to service. An overlooked statement was 'to constantly engage the customer or prospect'. Many companies forget to ask each lost prospect 'what did we not do to get your business' and many companies forget to ask existing customers 'what else can we do to keep your business'.
