Movie Producer Takes the Commercial Route

After trying to round up capital for a feature film they wanted to produce, the co-owners of Castlight Pictures, a production company in Hollywood, came up short. But rather than let their film wither on the vine, the crew set its sights on a market that could provide quick cash: commercials. After all, the 30-second spots were relatively easy to produce and with just five employees, Castlight could offer much lower overhead costs than advertising agencies. Since then, the company has wrapped six commercials and some webisodes.

There is an old saying that one man's trash is another's treasure, and the same is true of recessions. Some panic and fall apart, while others facing the exact same set of circumstances prosper and find profits. This article is a great reminder that creativity can grow great things under pressure... hope every reader does what I did, forward it to other creative biz leaders so that they grow stronger instead of stressed.
